The Heart Chakra 02/20/2012
0 Comments

Located near the center of the breastbone or sternum, this chakra represents higher consciousness and love. The Heart chakra is associated with the heart, thymus gland, lower lung and circulatory system.

The heart chakra acts as the balance point for all the chakras. It governs our relationships and how we interact with other people. A balanced heart chakra is expressed in acceptance of self and others, personal values and ethics, following one's unique direction in life.

Someone with a balanced heart chakra has the ability to show and receive love. This means you can show compassion and love for everyone and you will be clearly connected to others and other living things around you. This is why this chakra is characterized by unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness, acceptance and peace. Anyone who loves these attributes, or is in a job where they have to provide humanitarian services must always ensure that this chakra remains balanced. On the physical side the body organs linked to this chakra are free from illnesses when the chakra is in balance.

Characteristics of an Unbalanced Heart Chakra

An unbalanced heart chakra makes one manifest things like hatred, despair, fear, jealousy, anger, revenge and lack of empathy. On the physical side, imbalance makes one have the following illnesses – including heart and lung conditions, blood diseases, pneumonia, bronchitis, tuberculosis and breast cancer. In order to avoid these conditions you must ensure that your heart chakra is always balanced.

HEART CHAKRA - Color

The color associated with the heart chakra is Green. Green symbolizes harmony, creativity, health, abundance and nature. It is the combining of yellow (soul) and blue (spirit). Green, nature's color, offers new energy and revitalizes tired nerves.

So-how do I balance my heart chakra…the best way is to get quiet and ask your angels and spirit guides to please balance your heart chakra.  Another way to balance your heart chakra is by giving to others by loving, donating and sharing.

Random Acts of Kindness 02/13/2012
0 Comments

As most of you know-I always end my show with “Remember to always follow your heart, let the angels walk beside you and do at least one random act of kindness this week, and many blessings to you.”  I really feel random acts of kindness are very important on this earth.  What is a random act of kindness-well, it is something you do for someone else at the spur of the moment without expecting anything in return.  It can be as simple as picking up something someone dropped.  I like to pay for the  person behind me in the Starbucks drive thru.  I don’t even know the person and I never see their reaction.  The act is my reward.  I love knowing that I gave someone a little treat that day.  You never know what that other person is going through…perhaps they just lost their job-or lost someone they loved.  Or-perhaps they were having such a great day and this just added to it.  What I’m hoping happened is that is made that other person want to do something for someone else.  This morning I got an email from one of my favorite bloggers-Marc and Angel Hack Life-practical tips for productive thinking.  Their website is www.marcandangel.com.   The blog posting was “99 Tiny Stories to make you think , smile and cry.”.  I haven’t read all 99 stories yet, but I did find one that involved a random act of kindness-here it is:

Today, about an hour after I lost my wallet, a man showed up at my front door with it. Everything was intact including the $200 in cash. As I expressed my gratitude, he explained to me that he hopes doing the right thing pays off for him. “Oddly enough, I lost my wallet sometime this morning too,” he said. “I had about the same amount of cash in there that you have and all my cards and IDs.” Without thinking about it, I pulled out $100 and handed it to him. “Take this, I insist,” I said. “Just in case you don’t find your wallet, we’ll split the cash.” He gratefully accepted the money and left. This evening he knocked on my door again. “Here’s your $100 back,” he said. “A woman found my wallet and returned it and all my cash about an hour ago.” Made me think.

Random acts of kindness for me are essential-try to find some way to fit in a random act of kindness.  I can assure you that you will be the person that walks away with a lighter heart.

Jesus-the great teacher 02/06/2012

When you hear the name Jesus…what comes to your mind.  For a big majority of people, Jesus is the main character in Christianity.  Most of us were brought up with the belief that Jesus came to this earth, sent by his father God to save the world from sin.  His role was the lamb, who had no sin, who needed to be slaughtered to save all mankind.  I remember being very scared as a child and confused as well.  I was shocked every week to see Jesus-this kind man hanging on a cross-with his arms and legs pierced with nails-the blood clearly visible.  When listening to the messages I was scared that if I didn’t really believe in Jesus as my savior I would be going to hell-which didn’t sound like fun.  I also questioned-do I love him enough-what if I don’t love him enough.  I was also afraid of the final judgement-what happens if I didn’t believe enough…or didn’t do enough to get into heaven.  What happens to all the people that don’t go to church ?  My point is-fear for me was the way that I was introduced to Jesus.   I struggled with Christianity as a whole as a young adult.  I tried several different churches, I didn’t feel particularily close to this main character “Jesus” in any of them.   I then didn’t attend  church at all-about seven years ago I found Reiki-and started opening up to the spirituality around me.  This made more sense to me….I found Jesus to me was a great teacher, who was sent here to this earth to give us all a message…that we are all connected-that Jesus came to show us what we could do to help all mankind.  This was a gentler Jesus-so far removed from the person nailed to the cross.  I respect and honor what he died for and how he died-but to me it wasn’t to save me from a fiery hell.  He came to show us how to live our lives here on this earth.   I feel that now I have a more personal relationship with Jesus.  I call on him every day to be with me.  There is a really interesting book out now by Alexis Eldridge, who was a guest on my show last year.  Her book is titled “Conversations with Jesus”.  Alexis discusses how she co-created this book with Jesus, based on conversations with him.  You can find this book at any of the major booksellers.  I respect those who follow the path of Christianity-it is a good path and one I admire.  Everyone will find their spirituality in their own way.  If going to church gives you comfort-this is excellent-continue to do what brings you closer to Jesus.  Remember to also be open to others views on spirituality and Jesus-there is no “one” correct answer to “Who is Jesus”.

Dowsing and Pendulums 12/09/2011

This week on the show I am going to be discussing Pendulums and how to use them.  I might even use a pendulum during the reading portion of the show.  Here are a few facts about pendulums.
Dowsing is a fascinating skill to learn and can be used for measuring energies in the body, in rooms and houses or in the land; for checking whether you have managed to charge a crystal, an amulet or a spell;  for following leylines etc; or for divination purposes.

This is a way of releasing information from the subconscious. It is thought that when we ask certain types of questions we already subconsciously know the answer. Minute changes in the muscles at the very tips of the fingers move the chain from which the pendulum hangs and create a visible and regular movement in the pendulum itself.

Pendulums come in all shapes,  sizes and materials.    Traditional pendulums were most often made of wood. Wood is a material which is extremely efficient for divinatory work, and for earth energy work. However it is not quite so acute in measuring human energies as are crystals.    Different types of crystal can be used for different sorts of energy dowsing. When you have chosen a pendulum it is important to cleanse it-if you are a Reiki Practitioner you can simply hold it in the palm of your hand and perform Reiki on it for a few minutes-ask your angels and spirit guides to cleanse the pendulum.  You can also put it in water for a few hours by a window.  Now it's time to find out how easily you can learn to dowse.  Wrap the chain, thread or whatever around your forefinger, and hang the pendulum loosely between the tips of your first finger and your thumb. Hold it firmly enough that the hanger does not slip through your fingers, but loosely enough that you are exerting no particular pressure.

Now try to clear your mind, and then invite the pendulum to describe a circle for you. With a little luck, it will begin to swing around in a clockwise circle. If it does not, either you are holding the chain too tightly, or you are not getting on very well with the pendulum you have chosen.

Having once chosen your pendulum, you need to practice. At first, you should simply attempt to persuade the pendulum to swing round, or from side to side in accordance with your instructions. Once you have achieved the knack of this, you can progress to measuring the flow of energy from your palm chakras, by holding the pendulum above an open palm and watching the response.

Another thing you can do is pose simple yes/no questions to your pendulum. First you need to work out what response you get for a yes, and how that differs from a no.   Most people find one answer will produce a circle, and the other a side-to side swing.   So, first ask your pendulum to show you a "yes", then a "no".  Then practice a little bit by asking simple questions to which you know the answer - "Is my name so-and so" for example.  Test this several times just to be sure you know how your pendulum behaves for you.

Like many other skills using the inner talents, dowsing needs practise and development, but it is well worth investing the effort to achieve satisfactory results.

Elderberry Syrup 12/02/2011

Elderberry is so great for immunity.  This is an easy recipe to make your own elderberry syrup.  It is very expensive in the store.

1/2 cup elderberries (dried)
1 Cinnamon Stick
5 Whole Cloves
1 tablespoon Ginger
2 Cups Water

Bring above ingredients to a boil, turn down and simmer 20-30 minutes with the cover on-you want to reduce it by 1/2.

Remove from heat and strain into a glass bowl-press down on the elderberries to get all the wonderful juices out.  Add 1 Cup of honey and stir.  Pour into a glass mason jar and store in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Had a really great show today !  I talked a little bit about Reiki.  The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.I was also able to get in a few readings-Click Here to listen to this show.

Today's show I discussed the word "Psychic".  The work psychic means “of the mind, mental”.  There is this misconception about being psychic.  A lot of people think that it is something that they are not, when in fact-every single one of us is psychic.  Being psychic takes work-everyone can do it at some level.   Not everyone will attain the levels of the well known psychics like John Holland or Lisa Williams, but you can do the work that they do and you can tap into your own intuition.   Take the time to get quiet for a few minutes every day.  Ask a question and listen for messages-it might be a feeling or a knowing-go with it, this is your intuition at work.

I also discussed a fun exercise that you can do to raise your energy level:
giggle breathe....breathe in thru your nose for 4 counts hold for 4 and exhale for 8 through your mouth while giggling picturing the breath going in through the top of your head thrrough your whole body energizing it/filling every cell with oxygen & releasing it out through your feet like air releasing from a balloon while raising your arms on the in breath & lowering them & pushing the breath out with your hands....do this at least 10 times & notice each time if there's any place in your body that hurts & breathe the giggle or smile through that part of your body while exhaling & it's amazing how it releases the tension.
